Leadership

Wes is the Senior Pastor of St. Andrews, having previously served as the RUF Campus Minister at Auburn University, the RUF Campus Minister at Carson-Newman University in East Tennessee, and as a Pastor on the staff of Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis, TN. He is a graduate of Carson-Newman University and Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida. He is married to his best friend Nancy, and they have two daughters, Emily and Kate. Wes loves seeing people come to faith in Jesus, and follow Him in their lives, vocations, marriages and families.  

Bill Douglas along with his wife Brooke moved to Columbus in January of 1984 to start the church that became St. Andrews. Bill graduated from Auburn University and Covenant Theological Seminary, served as Youth Minister and Assistant Pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Macon, GA before coming to Columbus. Their three daughters are grown and married, leaving Bill and Brooke to feed and fund the care of 2 large, unrepentant cats and a moderately loyal dog. 

Jeff Barkhouse is an Assistant Pastor at St. Andrews and works full-time as a Nurse Practitioner in Columbus after serving for 20 years as a missionary among Albanians in Kosovo. Jeff graduated from University of North Carolina at Charlotte and got his Masters at the University of South Carolina and met Sara his wife at Columbia International University where they were both attending seminary.  St. Andrews Church was a part of Jeff and Sara’s ministry among Albanians from the beginning with Jeff becoming ordained through the PCA while serving the church in Kosovo.  They are delighted to be back in Columbus serving at the church that partnered with them in ministry for so many years in the Balkans. Jeff and Sara enjoy walking and cycling along Columbus’ fantastic Fall Line Trace Trail.

Youth Director

Vijay is very excited to be the Youth Director at St. Andrews! He desires to provide an environment for the youth at St. Andrews to grow deeper in their faith in Jesus and to walk faithfully with Him. He is a student at Reformed Theological Seminary in Atlanta. He and his wife Kate have lived in Columbus for two years and have two daughters. 

Marie loves her work at St. Andrews! Her primary focus is helping our church, families, and children love God with all their hearts, souls, and minds. She is an Army brat who married an Army chaplain, David. David and Marie have been happily married for 30 years and have two adult daughters, Emma and Anna. The Baums retired in Columbus in 2012 and have been at St. Andrews since 2017. Some of Marie's favorite things include reading, office supplies, and hanging out with her family.

Juli Pope is a native of Columbus, Georgia. She graduated from Liberty University in 2009 and married her husband Dale in 2012. They have three children: Finch, Smith, & Rosemary. 

Bob is a retired family physician originally from Jackson, MS, and a graduate of University of MS Medical School.  He and his wife, Alison, moved to Columbus in 1983, and soon after helped start (what is now) St. Andrews in their living room! {Bob says it's because they had no furniture except a piano...}

Bob is now a ruling elder, and thankful to now have the opportunity to serve part-time in coordinating the Music Ministry and playing the piano in worship.  He shares St. Andrews' belief that corporate worship is a vital means of grace for all Christians, and feels blessed to work with a committed group of musicians who also share this conviction.  Bob and Alison have 3 sons, and 5 precious (and very bright!) grandchildren.

Jennifer and her husband Chris have been long-time members of St. Andrews. They have 2 children, Blake and Mason. Jennifer grew up in Northern Michigan and graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Finance.  She worked in the banking industry for several years.   This is her second time with St. Andrews; she was the office manager for three years ending in 2017, and jumped at the opportunity to come back and serve in this capacity.  Jennifer loves baseball, shoes, and her two puppies Audrey and JoJo. 

Our Church Administrator and her husband love the church family they found many years ago at St. Andrews.  They are natives of Alabama but have found home and friendships in the west Georgia region.  With their kids grown, they spend their time doting on Tippy Cat, Queso and Pico.
